Runescape: What is better stats wise? Granite body, or Verac's Brard?

The Verac's body seems to have lower stats than the granite body, but is it still an overall better armor piece than the Granite body? Is it worth the 250K then having to repair it when it degrades? That's another thing. How much does it cost to repair the brard?
