Strep throat again?

i forgot 2 mention that i was not able to go 2 sleep the first night the doctor said i ahd it(yesterday) bcuz i cant swallow at all and i ahve 2 spit( yes spit) bcuz if i swallow it hurts extremly badly(it does when i take the meds also) wat can i take to fall asleep my mom has givin me 2 benadryl tablets...will this hel?p cuz i really want some sleep but if there is another way can u plz tell me
