Has any anomaly been observed on any celestial body that has crossed the Galactic Equator of the Milky Way?

The solar system does NOT cross the galactic plane in 2012. Galactic plane crossing would not cause the Earth to stop rotating (!!) and the oceans are not going anywhere.
