Does trying to capture everything under man-made global warming hurt its viability as a theory?

For example, there was some talk of the drought in Texas and the low level of Lake Travis being caused by AGW. Now that it is back up to nearly normal levels, it makes the talk of AGW as the cause seem rather silly.
